Can pulling / towing a truck that is in gear damage the truck when 1 wheel is dragging?

Someone towed my truck 100 feet when it was in gear. The call was fine and not to harm the truck. They were pulling on the dirt. All wheels were turning except one, which they said were locked. The truck is 1985 Ford F150 4×4. The truck was not then in a drive of the 4 wheels. Could this hectares damaged my truck? It is a manual.
